Exhibition -A juried fine art all-media exhibition honors all varieties of canines, domestic and wild. All profits from the show and a portion of sales will benefit the Helen Woodward Animal Center.

 

Awards – Cash awards to Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, plus additional merit awards, in two catagories :Fine Art and Photography.

 

Eligibility – Open to all artists residing in San Diego County, and to all 2D and 3D original artwork and photography. No giclee prints. Work must be original to

the artist, not derived from copyrighted or published material.

 

Sales– All work must be for sale and must remain hanging until the close of the show on November 26. Artist will receive 60% of sale, with a 20% commission to Gallery 21, and a 20% donation to Helen Woodward Animal Center.

 

Fine Art and Photography Juror

Our juror , Ken Goldman is an internationally known artist, author, teacher and art juror. A recipient of numerous awards, Goldman has exhibited widely in various group shows and solo exhibitions in Holland, Paris, Mexico, New York, Boston and Washington D.C. Ken is currently serving as president of the National Watercolor Society and is represented by California Watercolor.com Gallery.

Specifications – 2D work must be framed or have all sides of piece finished, and have wire attached to back for hanging. No saw tooth hangers. Work cannot exceed 40” in any direction. Glazed work over 18” must use Plexiglas.

 

3D work may include glass, pottery, wire, beading, paper, or sculpture. Freestanding works cannot exceed 36” in height. Work requiring a pedestal must be no more than 15” wide at the base and must not weigh over 30 lbs. No work requiring electricity.

 

Gallery Hours – Gallery 21 is in a high-traffic tourist area and is open every day from 11 AM to 4 PM. There is no paid staff, so each accepted artist must either sit the gallery for a 3 hour shift during the show, or pay a

$25 sitting fee.

All sitters will review the sitters instructions provided in the notebook when they arrive for their designated sitting time.

Miscellaneous - Although the utmost care will be taken in handling the artwork, Gallery 21 and the organizers of the Doggone Art Show cannot be responsible for damage or loss, whatever the cause.

Artists should carry their own insurance.

Submission of Entry – All entries will be submitted as digital images emailed as an attachment to

Digital image should be in .jpg format with the longest side set to 1200 pixels.

Fees – Entry fee is $20 for the first entry and $10 for each additional entry. No limit on number of entries.
